Gypsy Warrior

What do you get when you combine boho chic and rock n' roll glam? It's not rocket science-it's Gypsy Warrior. Founding ladies Nicla DiCosmo and Michel Bezoza dream up edgy yet feminine designs from clothing to accessories to slick vintage must-haves. I'm currently obsessing over that second outfit featured above and this gorgeous salmon blouse.

Lemon + Leopard

Sunny peep toes with a little surprise.
Pardon me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard.

Yeah, Yeah It's Cool, Baby

Back in Charm City with the naughty soul sounds of Bosley on loop this morning. Their album Honey Pig is the perfect soundtrack to this chill, laid-back Baltimore day. I'm getting ready to meet my dear friend, the incredibly talented Britt Olsen-Ecker for a caffeine-fix and some juicy gossip. Britt's a bona fide Renaissance woman; she's a photographer, singer, actor, writer, director and all-around badass. Click away to her website, and see what I mean. Bad. Ass.

Cheers, kids.

Snap Of The Week

Enjoying my pretty new 'toys.' I love the canary color of this raw silk scarf and my fun feather earrings-gifts from Chris from the American Visionary Art Museum. Also, my new Wellesley travel wallet from kate spade. The background is an original oil and acrylic on canvas by my talented beau. Do you have any new treasures that you can't seem to get enough of?

Happy Friday!

the Ultimate Girls' Night Out

There are few things in this world I love more than a girls' night out, and the best is a kick-ass bachelorette party. Now, I know we're all accustomed to seeing some trashy hen parties, complete with hammered brides-to-be and the occasional topless MOH. I'd like to think the large majority of women would prefer to leave that kind of behavior to the cast of Jersey Shore.

Graphic designer, writer and artist Janean of due design daily  had one of the coolest bachelorette parties ever. She and her best gal pals, Brittany and Becca, headed to Malibu and pitched a tent on the beach for a whole day of fresh summer snacks and dark honey whiskey. The hopeless romantic in me loves that Janean wrote her favorite initials in the sand during the day and ended the night writing them in the sky. Beautiful captured by husband and wife duo, Kevin and Danielle of The Why We Love. Spotted on 100 layer cake.

the Most Important Meal Of The Day

It's only Wednesday, and I've already been having quite the week. I'm trying to distract myself from all the frenzy by obsessing over all things kate spade. Not a bad plan, right? I'm totally digging this Eat Cake For Breakfast terry. It's just so darn cheeky, and really, who doesn't want to eat cake for breakfast?

Side note: I completely forgot to wish everyone a Happy Mardi Gras yesterday. It's just further evidence that I've got my poor head screwed on backwards this week. For all of you observing Ash Wednesday today, I wish you a reflective and prayerful Lenten season.

Do Not Disturb

I spent the weekend running around Manhattan for some auditions and my grand-aunt's 90th birthday. It was great fun, but I am so looking forward to being completely useless today. I love Janet Hill's beautiful work and am hoping to spend the afternoon looking a little like this print of her oil painting Beauty Sleeps. How are you spending this President's Day off?

Snap Of The Week

This delicious box of treats was waiting for me when I arrived in Baltimore Sunday night, and I am unashamed to say Chris and I inhaled them. The cake balls included red velvet with ruby sugar crystals, double dark chocolate with pink rose petals, dark chocolate raspberry with sugar pearls and strawberry with white chocolate ganache and dark chocolate drizzle. I've had my fair share of these one-bite wonders, and the thing I've had issue with in the past is how dry they can be with too much shell and not enough cake. These cake balls from brand-spanking new Baltimore 'dessertery' Rosewater & Chocolate, however, are out of control amazing. They almost melt in your mouth, and the flavors are so rich and intense there's no way you can stop at just one.

Have a sweet weekend.

a Rustic Affair

This shoot may have been inspired by a modern, rustic wedding, but I think it would make a great dinner party. Chris and I don't usually drink liquor, except for the occassional Scotch, so a wine and cheese get-together is right up our alley.

Alchemy Fine Events worked in collaboration with Enchanted Dream Weddings and Isari Flower Studio to present this warm, earthy tablescape. Artisanal cheeses like the soft goat cheese medallions topped with fresh pomegranate seeds and honeycombs, and crusty, fresh breads were paired with an assortment of fine wines. The long wooden table was draped with a burlap runner, hand-dyed cheese clothes and finished with simple white china and raw silverware.

I was really happy to see arrangements of my two favorite flowers, black eyed anemones and white ranunculus, and the fresh ferns in mini terra cotta pots. The scene stealer of the shoot is definitely that perfectly uniced cake, with simple layers of vanilla buttercream and topped with fresh berries. Beautifully captured by Christie Chang.

Downton Does Vogue

photography by jason bell. styled by fiona golfar. spotted on tom + lorenzo.
{vogue uk from tfs}

Downton Abbey became my go-to guilty pleasure when it debuted on PBS early last year, so I was psyched to find that my favorite back-stabbing sisters were featured in the August 2011 issue of UK Vogue. Ladies Mary, Edith and Sybil Crawley portrayed by Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael and Jessica Brown-Findlay, respectively, traded in their early 1900s inspired frocks (like this jaw-dropper, featured in Vanity Fair) and stepped into Ralph Lauren, Bottega Veneta, Oscar de la Renta and Valentino for this glamorous shoot.

I admit, I've already seen all of season two; I couldn't resist the full online episodes that were originally aired in the UK. It still hasn't stopped me from tuning in every Sunday night for Masterpiece though, and I can't wait for season three. Have you gone head over heels for Downton Abbey as much as I have?

Noire

I've always loved staying home on Valentine's Day, and I'm super excited that Chris and I get to do just that. Whatever your plans are, whether it's a night out on the town or a night in behind closed doors, have a very Happy Valentine's Day.

a Lazy Morning

{photo stoffer photography via coco+kelley}

After a jam-packed weekend of auditions, New York Fashion Week and a trip down to Charm City, I totally did not want to get up this morning. "Five more minutes," turned into "Okay, ten," then "Uhm... make it fifteen." Chris resorted to bribing me with French toast to get me out of our comfy cloud. Hope you had a wonderful weekend, and Happy Monday.

Finally made my first trip to Ladurée NYC this week. Top picks of the day were definitely pistachio and cassis&violette. Have you gotten a chance yet to visit the famous macaron mecca?
