Thanks, Universe.

Happy Friday, darlings! My fortune cookie the other day put a smile on my face, and it was just the little boost I needed after a busy week. I'm getting ready in the kitchen with some of Chris' favorite snacks for a picnic tomorrow afternoon. Crossing my fingers that the weather is kind. Wishing you all a beautiful weekend! Hope whatever you have in store puts a smile on your face.

Golden
The warmer temperatures made gold my go-to accessory choice this week. I love arm parties on other gals, but my tiny stature makes 4 inches of bling on each arm look a little ridiculous. I think a couple of pretty bracelets, my favorite watch and my mother's earrings are just right. Happy weekend, dears. Hope the weather is just as nice wherever you are!

Tresses
{instagram one, instagram two}
Happy Friday, darlings. I didn't get a chance to share these last week, so I wanted to include them in today's snap of the week. A little inspiration from Stephanie Brinkerhoff's gorgeous work came true after thirty minutes, two failed attempts and two tired, but toned arms later. Not too bad for a first go, right?

Paradise
A little snapshot from our picnic lunch on Monday. I would give anything to be back at Liberty Lake with Chris. I've been in a bit of a funk for the past couple of days, so I'm definitely glad it's Friday. Hoping to maybe curl up with a good book and a glass of wine tonight before settling in for some much needed rest. Wishing you all a peaceful weekend.

A dance with my Godfather, Walt, at my sweet sixteen.
Wishing you a weekend full of love and cherished memories.

Reflection

I headed over to NYU last night to catch my friend James in the final performance of Kurt Weill's Street Scene and joined the cast party at West 3rd Common after the show. I snapped a photo of one of the cast member's bouquets before closing time. The roses are beautiful, but what I really like is the cool reflection in the wrapping.

Snap of the Week
The East Coast has definitely been enjoying a mild winter this year. While in Baltimore earlier this week, Chris and I ordered some take out from his (and now my) favorite Vietnamese restaurant, Mekong Delta, and had an impromptu picnic lunch under this pretty plum tree. I was excited to see a lot of the trees already in bloom with honey bees buzzing around them. Back in the Garden State, however it's been all cloudy skies and chilly rain. The sun is trying to peak out today, but there are more showers in the forecast for this weekend. I look at this picture and wish I could turn back the clock a few days. Here's hoping Mother Nature decides to cut us a warm break next week.

Snap Of The Week
Enjoying my pretty new 'toys.' I love the canary color of this raw silk scarf and my fun feather earrings-gifts from Chris from the American Visionary Art Museum. Also, my new Wellesley travel wallet from kate spade. The background is an original oil and acrylic on canvas by my talented beau. Do you have any new treasures that you can't seem to get enough of?
Happy Friday!

This delicious box of treats was waiting for me when I arrived in Baltimore Sunday night, and I am unashamed to say Chris and I inhaled them. The cake balls included red velvet with ruby sugar crystals, double dark chocolate with pink rose petals, dark chocolate raspberry with sugar pearls and strawberry with white chocolate ganache and dark chocolate drizzle. I've had my fair share of these one-bite wonders, and the thing I've had issue with in the past is how dry they can be with too much shell and not enough cake. These cake balls from brand-spanking new Baltimore 'dessertery' Rosewater & Chocolate, however, are out of control amazing. They almost melt in your mouth, and the flavors are so rich and intense there's no way you can stop at just one.

Finally made my first trip to Ladurée NYC this week. Top picks of the day were definitely pistachio and cassis&violette. Have you gotten a chance yet to visit the famous macaron mecca?
